Cyrus SoCal Free Events is a free events guide for parents and caregivers in Southern California. Every listing is a real, no-cost event a family can walk into: library story times and craft afternoons, park and beach days, free museum days, neighborhood festivals, outdoor concerts and movie nights, holiday celebrations and city recreation programs. We check each one against the organizer’s own page before it goes in, and we note the honest caveats — “free admission, parking is $10” — so you are never surprised at the gate.
The app is small on purpose. There is no sign-up, no profile, no advertising and no paywall. Open it, pick your region, and see what is on this week.
Cyrusmeowgreat is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 33-2415944). Our mission is to improve the psychological wellbeing of children and families, especially children facing illness, through community outreach led by Cyrus the Persian Cat. Time together outdoors, at a story hour, or at a free festival is one of the simplest supports a family can have, and cost should not be the reason it does not happen. This free-events guide is one of our community programs: a practical way to put good, free things to do in front of Southern California families every week.

An event makes the list only if it is genuinely free to attend (or has a clearly labeled free day), is welcoming to children and families, and is confirmed on the organizer’s own website or official announcement. We record where each fact came from. We do not list events we cannot verify, and we do not take payment for placement. Listings are refreshed as new events are confirmed, and past events drop off automatically.
Is it really free? Yes. The app is free, and every event in it is free to attend. Some venues charge for parking or optional extras; when we know that, we say so on the listing.
Do I need an account? No. There is no sign-up and no login. You choose a region by tapping a tab.
Are there ads in the app? No. We do run our own ads elsewhere to help families find the app, and the app includes measurement for those ads only. Details are in our privacy policy.
What about my privacy? We collect almost nothing. The app has no account and no location permission; the privacy policy explains the small amount of usage data that is shared with our advertising partner and how to limit it, and our data deletion page explains your options.
