Privacy Policy Last Updated: July 31, 2026
1. Introduction Welcome to Cyrusmeowgreat (“we,” “our,” or “us”). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you visit our website (cyrusmeowgreat.org) and interact with our nonprofit organization.
2. Information We Collect We may collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you express an interest in obtaining information about us or our services, when you participate in activities on the Website (such as filling out a Contact Form, Volunteer Application, or an adoption inquiry via the Forever Home Adoption Interest form), or otherwise contact us.
The personal information that we collect depends on the context of your interactions with us and may include:
Personal details: First and last name, email address, phone number, and location.
Inquiry data: Information you provide regarding facility/adoption visits, volunteer availability, or general questions.
3. How We Use Your Information We use personal information collected via our Website for a variety of organizational purposes, including:
To respond to your inquiries and offer support.
To process volunteer applications and coordinate facility visits.
To send administrative information to you regarding updates to our programs or policies.
To protect our Website and ensure safe, secure interactions.
4. Sharing Your Information We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do share limited information with the analytics and advertising providers described in section 6, so that we can understand how the Website is used and measure our own outreach; what those providers receive is described in section 6, and your options for limiting it are in section 12. We only share information with your consent, to comply with laws, to provide you with services, to protect your rights, or to fulfill nonprofit obligations.
5. Security of Your Information We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your personal information. While we have taken reasonable steps to secure the personal information you provide to us, please be aware that despite our efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable.
6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies We may use cookies, web beacons, tracking pixels, and other tracking technologies (including tools for analytics and online advertising) on the Website to help customize the Website and improve your experience. You can choose to disable cookies through your browser settings, though this may affect certain features of the site. Specifically, this Website loads the Google tag (GT-WV84GPP); Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-DRZ1WM90MM), which records how visitors use the Website; Google Ads conversion and remarketing tags (account AW-16844888023), which means you may be shown Cyrusmeowgreat advertising on Google properties and partner sites after visiting; Google’s DoubleClick advertising service; and the Meta Pixel (ID 891339813142137). These tags load when you arrive: we do not currently present a cookie consent banner, and we do not ask you to opt in before they run. We also send Meta a small number of named events describing actions on the Website — including when you begin a donation (an “InitiateCheckout” event carrying the category “donation”) and when you tap to contact us by text message (a “Contact” event) — so that Meta can measure and target our advertising. Data collected by these tools is transmitted to Google and to Meta and processed on their own systems, under their own terms and privacy policies. Your options for limiting this are in section 12 below.
7. Financial Information and Donations When you make a donation to Cyrusmeowgreat, your payment information (such as credit card details) is processed securely by our third-party payment processors. We do not store or retain your full financial information on our servers.
8. Privacy Rights for California Residents If you are a resident of California, you are granted specific rights regarding access to your personal information under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and “Shine the Light” law. You have the right to request information about the data we collect and to request its deletion. To exercise these rights, please contact us using the information provided above.
9. Contact Us If you have questions or comments about this Privacy Policy, please contact us at: cyrus@cyrusmeowgreat.org
10. Live chat and on-site help
Helping you while you browse. While you are on cyrusmeowgreat.org, we may note — for the duration of your visit only — which page you are viewing and how long you’ve been there, so that a member of our team can offer to help you via chat (for example, answering questions about adopting one of our cats). This information is held briefly on our own website, is not linked to your name or contact details, contains no IP address, and is automatically deleted within minutes of you leaving the site.
Chat invitations. You may occasionally see a small chat invitation while browsing. It only appears when a real member of our team is online and starts the conversation, at most once per visit, and you can dismiss it with one tap. Chats on our site are with real people from the rescue — we don’t use chat bots.
Visitors in the EU, UK, Australia, and Canada. For visitors in these regions we do not run this on-site presence feature or send chat invitations unless you have given consent.
What we do with chat messages. Messages you send in chat are used only to answer you. If you share contact details in chat, we use them only to respond. Chat activity is never used for advertising.
11. Data Deletion Instructions
Cyrus & Friends (our Facebook Instant Game) stores limited gameplay data such as your progress, scores, and in-game preferences. To request deletion of your data, email cyrus@cyrusmeowgreat.org with the subject “Data Deletion Request” and include the name on your Facebook account. We will permanently delete your associated game data within 30 days. You may also remove the game’s access anytime via Facebook Settings → “Apps and Websites.”
12. Your Choices and How to Opt Out For Google advertising, Google’s My Ad Center lets you control ad personalization across Google services, and Google publishes an Analytics opt-out browser add-on. For Meta advertising, Meta’s ad preferences and your Meta account settings let you control how Meta personalizes advertising to you and review what businesses have sent Meta about you. In your browser, every major browser lets you block or delete cookies, and several block third-party tracking by default; blocking cookies stops most of the collection described in section 6.
