Privacy Policy — Cyrus SoCal Free Events

1. Who we are. Cyrusmeowgreat, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 33-2415944). Contact: cyrus@cyrusmeowgreat.org.

2. What this app collects: almost nothing about you personally. This policy covers the app on both stores (listed on Google Play as "Cyrus SoCal Free Events" and on the Apple App Store as "Cyrus: SoCal Free Events") and its website version. No account. No sign-in. No location permission — you pick a region by tapping a tab. We don’t collect your contacts, photos, or messages.

3. Events data. Event listings are public information we curate. Viewing them sends standard web requests (IP address, user agent) to our web host, used only to serve the content. Like nearly every website, our server automatically records the IP address of each request in its access logs. We use these logs only to operate and secure the service; we do not use them to identify you, locate you, or build profiles. Logs are archived monthly and old archives are deleted automatically — they are retained for no more than about two months.

4. Donations. Donations are processed by Stripe (and Apple Pay where you choose it). We never see or store your card number. Stripe receives the information needed to process your donation (amount, payment credentials, and your email address for the receipt — on the donation page, Stripe requires it; in the Apple Pay sheet, only if you choose to share it) under Stripe’s privacy policy (stripe.com/privacy). Donation records live in our Stripe account for legal, tax, and receipt purposes.

5. Analytics & advertising. The website version of this app uses Google Analytics (the same measurement used across cyrusmeowgreat.org) to understand which pages and regions are viewed, so we can pick better events. Google Analytics receives standard usage data (pages viewed, approximate region, device type) under Google's privacy policy; we do not send it your name, email, or donation details. Apart from the Meta measurement SDK described below, the mobile apps run no analytics or advertising SDKs of our own. On iOS, donations use Stripe's payment SDK (for Apple Pay), which sends device and usage information to Stripe — for fraud prevention and Stripe's own service analytics — including a device identifier, as described in Stripe's privacy policy (stripe.com/privacy). On Android, the app includes no payment SDK: donations open Stripe's hosted page in your browser instead. That information goes to Stripe, not to us; we may see Stripe's own fraud-risk indicators on a donation. Other than the Meta advertising measurement described below, nothing in the apps is used for advertising. Nothing in the apps tracks you across other companies' apps or websites.

5a. Meta (Facebook and Instagram) advertising measurement. To understand how this app is used, in aggregate, and to measure and improve our own advertising for it on Facebook and Instagram, the mobile apps include the Meta App Events SDK from Meta Platforms, Inc. It is active in the current app versions, and the apps share with Meta usage and interaction data — app installs and opens, which event listings you view (by listing ID), when you start a donation (with the amount you chose, if you chose one, and which payment route you were sent to), and, on iOS only, a completed Apple Pay donation with its amount (on Android, donations take place on Stripe's page in your browser, and Meta receives nothing about whether you completed one) — together with standard device information (device model, operating-system version, app version, language and region, time zone, mobile carrier name, screen size and pixel density, processor core count, IP address, and, on Android only, how much storage the device has and how much is free, and the store the app was installed from), an anonymous identifier the SDK generates for this app installation, and, on Android only, an attribution identifier supplied by the Facebook or Messenger app if one of them is installed on your device. We do not send Meta your name, email address, or payment details, and the apps do not collect your device's advertising identifier or request Apple's tracking permission. Meta processes this data under its own privacy policy (facebook.com/privacy/policy) and may associate it with your Meta account if you have one. You can review and limit how Meta uses activity from apps in Meta Accounts Center ("Your activity off Meta technologies" and Ad preferences), and you can limit ad personalization in your device's privacy settings.

6. Data storage on your device. The app caches event listings on your device purely for speed/offline viewing. Clearing the app’s storage (or deleting the app) removes it.

7. Children. The app is intended for parents and caregivers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children; the app has no accounts or data-entry beyond an optional donation-receipt email.

8. Data deletion. See our Data Deletion page. Short version: email cyrus@cyrusmeowgreat.org and we’ll delete what we hold (donation records may be retained where the law requires).

9. Organization-wide policy. The Cyrusmeowgreat website policy at cyrusmeowgreat.org/privacy-policy/ also applies to our web properties.
